Data Deletion Policy

This Data Deletion Policy outlines how SpendWise handles user data when an account deletion request is made. By using our app, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please discontinue the use of the app.

  1. Account Deletion Request

    Users can request to delete their account through the profile screen within the SpendWise app. Once the account deletion request is confirmed, we will initiate the process to permanently remove the associated data, except as outlined below.

  2. Data Retained After Deletion

    Upon account deletion, all financial data, user preferences, and app-related information will be permanently deleted. However, we will retain the user’s email address and name. This retention is to ensure that users cannot create a new account using the same email address after requesting data deletion. If you attempt to re-register with the same email, the registration will be denied.

  3. Data Deletion Timeline

    Once a deletion request is confirmed, the data will be deleted within 30 days. During this period, users will not be able to access their account, and all associated data will be inaccessible.

  4. Irrecoverability of Data

    Once your data is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Users are advised to ensure they have exported or backed up any important financial information before submitting a deletion request.

  5. Legal Obligations

    In some cases, we may be required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or enforce our terms. Such information will only be retained for as long as is legally necessary.

  6. Changes to This Policy

    We reserve the right to modify this Data Deletion Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted within the App, and it is your responsibility to review the updated policy periodically. Your continued use of the App signifies your acceptance of the changes.
